Reasons behind this website and FAQ
Reasons
Once upon a very long time ago, I decided to build a website. I put silly things on it, like my favorite song lyrics, links to fun pages, and some of my original poetry. (Angsty, gothy, and very bad. Hey, I was fourteen, what do you expect?)
Then I started writing fanfic, and that sort of exploded.
Basically, this website is a storage space for all of the junk I've amassed over the past ten years of my involvement in online fandom. And it doesn't even have everything posted yet. If you're interested in the nonfiction details of my life, or are seeking original fiction works, go to my livejournal. But be forewarned, I do not friend everyone who friends me. Commenting often and having an interesting enough personal life to catch my attention helps, as does actually talking to me on a fairly regular basis.
Why did you move your website?
Geocities is gone now.
Will you host my stuff?
Only if it's a gift for me, or a co-produced project. Websites are free and easy to design, go make your own.
Can I get webspace on nocturnalsoldier.org?
The owner's policy is to only give webspace as presents to close friends. Sorry.
Will you write me a fic?
Nope. Gift-fics are precisely that, presents. And even when I do write them, it usually doesn't get finished until six months after the initial occasion. While I will take requests from my LJ friendslist, half of the time I don't actually wind up doing them.
I saw your story on another website and I don't think they got your permission to post it, what should I do?
Contact me immediately. I have had problems with plagiarism before, multiple times, and I rely on you guys to find out new instances of it.
What's up with the ff.net thing?
In 2003 my account was hacked into and all of my stories (and over a thousand reviews) were destroyed. The hackers changed the password, so I can't get into the original account. After five years, I've started posting there again, under a slightly altered penname, but I haven't reposted anything that I originally had there, save for one story that had been partially uploaded, but never finished, at the pit. (It was One Night in Bangkok, for the curious.)
I'd like to host/link to some of the fanart on your page. What should I do?
Contact me, and I will contact the original artist. You will need their permission.
I'd like to host your fanfics on my webpage. May I?
Contact me, and we can discuss it.
How do I contact you?
Through my eljay, email (mjalta@yahoo.com), or AIM: Edmondia
